Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Resources
Set out below are links and information on EDI resources developed by AHP and professional bodies. These are available for use by any professional body or to be shared more widely. Please note these pages cover more than AHPF member organisations. These pages are regularly updated.
British Dietetic Association (BDA):
The BDA has had an Equalities strategy since 2016 which contains a public statement of commitment; Equalities | British Dietetic Association (BDA)
The Revised 2020 Curriculum Framework for the pre-registration education and training of dietitians requires students to demonstrate the ability to understand and act in accordance with current legislation applicable to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
The BDA’s “Future Leaders” training programme contains a dedicated equalities module.
BDA resources used for communication and educational purposes are being made more representative and inclusive across EDI areas – watch this space for a new link.
Council of Deans of Health:
The Council is committed to anti-racism and has established an Anti-Racism Advisory Group of healthcare academics from across the UK.
The Council will be running events throughout the year with a particular focus on anti-racism and diversity. There is a series of blogs and podcasts on their website related to antiracism in academia. The Council’s Academic Staffing census showed the demographics of the current academic healthcare workforce. The Student Leadership Programme established the Race Matters group, made up of current students and alumni from the #150Leaders network.
