AHPF Cymru represents 13 of the Allied Health Professions in Wales. Collectively AHPs are the third biggest workforce in the NHS bringing breadth, passion, knowledge, and the skills to drive and support change.
We are arts therapists, drama therapists, music therapists, orthoptics, dieticians, podiatrists, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, orthotists and prosthetists, occupational therapists, paramedics, psychologists and radiographers. We work with people of all ages; we diagnose; we prevent, we treat and we help people live their best lives.
AHPs are leaders and advocates for change. Utilising AHPs to our maximum effect impacts and delivers true transformational change across health, social care, public health, education, justice, the third sector and beyond. We bring different solutions to complex problems across sectors and throughout the life course.
Our vision: The Allied Health Professionals workforce is positioned to improve the health and well-being of the population in Wales.
Our mission: The AHPF Cymru provides collective AHP leadership and representation to influence national policy and guidance at a strategic level.
AHPF Cymru strategic priorities:
1. Workforce
2. Service Transformation/The Future of Health and Social Care
3. Visibility of AHPs/Leadership
